Radiation Power (EIRP) Calculator
Tips: Transmit power PTX = actual power fed into the antenna (e.g., 10 W).
Antenna gain / beamforming concentrates energy in certain directions.
EIRP = “equivalent power if an isotropic antenna radiated in that direction.”
So, if you have a 10 W transmitter and a high-gain directional antenna or beamforming array pointing at the receiver:
EIRP = PTX × Glinear, where Glinear is the linear gain of the antenna in the beam direction.
If GdBi = 6 dBi → Glinear = 10^(6/10) ≈ 3.98
Then EIRP ≈ 10 W × 3.98 ≈ 39.8 W.
This is exactly your example: 10 W transmitted, but effectively ~40–45 W in the beam direction.
