Instructions for Pulse Amplitude Modulation (PAM)
- Step 1: Click on 'Generate Message' button to generate input message signal
- Step 2: Then click on 'Generate Carrier' button to generate carrier signal. You can change the message and carrier signal frequencies from the input field. The carrier frequency has to be more than the message frequency
- Step 3: Click on 'Generate PAM Signal' button to generate Pulse Amplitude Modulated (PAM) Signal
- Step 4: Click the 'Show Frequency Spectrums' button to view the PAM spectrum
Pulse Amplitude Demodulation
The PAM spectrum contains the original baseband spectrum plus replicas centered around multiples of the sampling frequency. An LPF isolates the baseband copy and rejects those higher-frequency replicas. The PAM signal already contains samples of the message amplitude, so the reconstruction LPF smooths those samples back into the original message.Cut-off Frequency (Hz)
