PAM Signal Analyzer
Upload CSV, .wav, .mp3, or .mp4
Actual Sample Rate (fs): -- Hz
Detects fs automatically from .wav, .mp3, or .mp4. For CSV, use the input box above. Time axis is displayed in seconds.
PAM Spectrum
For an ideal impulse-sampled PAM signal, the time-domain signal is represented as:
\[ s_{PAM}(t) = m(t) \sum_{n=-\infty}^{\infty} \delta(t-nT_s) \]
The corresponding PAM spectrum is approximately:
\[ S_{PAM}(f) = \frac{1}{T_s} \sum_{k=-\infty}^{\infty} M(f-kf_s) \]
Frequency Components
Therefore, the PAM spectrum contains components at:
\[ \boxed{f = kf_s \pm f_m} \]
where \(k = 0,\pm1,\pm2,\ldots\)
Here, \(f_s\) is the sampling (pulse) frequency and \(f_m\) is the message frequency. The message spectrum is repeated around integer multiples of the sampling frequency.
