Mathematics Behind the Conversion

1. m/s to km/h

Speed (km/h) = Speed (m/s) × (18/5)

2. km/h to m/s

Speed (m/s) = Speed (km/h) × (5/18)

Why 18/5?

1 km = 1000 m
1 hour = 3600 s

1000 / 3600 = 5/18
Inverse = 18/5 = 3.6
